How one engages with care starts with how one understands those worthy of receiving care and how one conceptualizes bodies in need of care. This project examines care ethics of biometric data standing in for the body through noticing the mundane aspects of a hospital room—paying attention to small, annoying, or quiet things that affect a person's healing—and its impacts on patient care. It is a multi-modal research project that examines care through three central video-based artworks (Boundaries, Ultrasound Mimesis, and Disembodied) that became fracture through another form of care giving, culminating into seven discrete artistic explorations around each initial work.
